Setup Time Reduction

An investment in setup time reduction represents the amount of money spent to try to reduce the time taken to setup the factory to produce a batch of another product. Setup time reduction may take the form of process re-engineering to design different ways to move material through the factory. It may also involve improved machinery design, to speed up changes and alterations between batches.
