Changing Plant Size
To change the size of the plant, enter a whole number in either the Buy or Sell field. You must enter a number that is a multiple of the amount specified in the text below the plant field. This is because machines or workstations can only be purchased in certain sized lots. You cannot both Buy and Sell equipment in the same decision period and you cannot Sell more equipment than you currently own.
IMPORTANT: There is a one year lag from when a decision to change plant size is made until when it is completed. So a decision to purchase machinery in say 2011 will not result in increased production capacity until 2012. Similarly a decision to sell in 2011 will not result in a reduction of capacity until 2012.
