Data - Internal Quality

A high level of internal quality is attained through motivation and training of people, maintenance of machines and good supplier relations, all coupled with investment in quality systems to provide on-going monitoring at every stage of the production process. This corresponds "quality at the source", and to the techniques of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Deming.

The graphs below show examples of how (1) investment in quality systems, and (2) having more effective people, maintenance and supplier relations will decrease proportion of defective products arriving at the end of the production process.
